The Little Prince
This ballet based on the famous book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry views the world through a child’s eyes before it becomes an adult. The prince comes from another world and tries to understand the world of adults on planet Earth through the eyes of a curious boy. That is how Antoine de Saint-Exupéry depicted him and started a conversation with him about the most obvious things, such as the fact that you cannot find a well in the desert. Other topics of their conversation are the perpetual human dissatisfaction, responsibility for entrusted things, love that dies with the feeling of ownership, the fact that to love means to look for a common goal, the stars that shine for everyone to find their own, and the fact that people, unlike, plants, have no roots. This ballet performance at the New Theatre views the world through a child’s eyes before it becomes an adult – through the eyes of the author whose prince opened his heart eighty years ago, during the cruel Second World War.
